A new and upcoming movie is arriving in Singapore. And one of the main actors is none other than Johnny Depp! =) Woolala~ Haha. Anyway, just in case you are wondering, the movie is The Lone Ranger.

The Long Ranger will be released in Singapore cinemas on 4 July 2013. And other than Johnny Depp, the film also stars John Reid as the Lone Ranger, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter. In the movie, Johnny Depp stars as a Native American spiritual warrior, Tonto. He recounts the tales of a man of the law that is transformed into a legend of justice. This thriller is packed with action and humour, and shows how the two unlikely heroes work together to fight against greed and corruption.

But what really got be going and interested in The Lone Ranger is the history behind the idea of it. The concept of the Lone Ranger was first conceived in 1933 in a radio show and had since become an endearing icon of American culture. Soon, the Lone Ranger began appearing in comic books and movies and became a hit! The main gist of the storyline is that a posse of six members of the Texas Ranger Division is ambushed by a band of outlaws led by Bartholomew "Butch" Cavendish. Later, a Native American spiritual warrior named Tonto stumbles on the scene and recognizes the lone survivor, Ranger Reid, as the man who saved his life some time in the past. He nurses Reid back to health. The two men dig six graves for Reid and his comrades, so Cavendish will believe that there were no survivors, forgetting that Cavendish thought he had killed seven men in that canyon, including the traitorous scout who led the Rangers into the trap. Among the Rangers killed was Reid's own older brother, Captain Daniel Reid, who was a captain in the Texas Rangers. Tonto fashions a black Domino mask, using material from Captain Reid's vest, to conceal the Lone Ranger's identity. After the Cavendish gang is brought to justice, Reid continues to fight for law and order and against evil and crime, using the alias of "The Lone Ranger." Credit goes to Wikipedia.

Other than the storyline of The Lone Ranger, I was also anticipating the role of Red Harrington, by Helena Bonham Carter. Those who have watched the Harry Potter movies would not forget Bellatrix Lestrange, the woman behind Lord Voldermort. Since then, I have been captivated with her acting skills and have never failed to watch the movies she has been cast into.

Other than the epic storyline and the fantastic cast, Disney has out-performed itself with the special effects and music. So, start anticipating this upcoming movie!!
