And so we began our year of preparations to the big day. We wanted to keep the date of our anniversary (so that someone can remember the date. HAHA) and also to have on less event on our actual banquet day. :)

Did my make-up using the trial make-up services provided for by my actual day MUA Valerie. Then taxi-ed to the ROM location.

So on 30th May, we registered our marriage at the ROM. It was a intimate affair, just our parents and his sister. And it was quite a fast process. We said our vows and we were married! :D

This was quite a while ago. =X Anyway, my family and I attended my cousin's wedding at Marina Mandarin hotel. It was not in a large ballroom, but what mattered most was that there were fun, joy and laughter throughout the dinner event. =)

Lol. =X Anyhow, we headed into the ballroom and realized that we were to be seated on the "Red (VIP) Table", as commonly known as the 红桌, but it was the bride's side. So only the closest relatives from the Bride's family get to sit on the table. =P

Suckling Pig Combination
Suckling Pig Slices, Pan-fried Abalone Clam with Garlic, Prawn Salad, Jellyfish with Sesame Seeds & Prawn Spring Roll
A glorious combination, the cold dish is always one of the best dishes in the entire the dinner. The suckling pig slices is both crispy and juicy~

Braised Three Kingdom Shark's Fin Soup
Sliced Abalone, Shredded Chicken & Black Mushroom
The broth of the soup is thick and flavourful =) Again, I have to emphasize that Sharks' Fin is not neccessary, so SAVE THE SHARKS! =)
Chef's Special Crispy Roast Chicken
Almost every wedding dinner (and sometimes lunch), you will get to see this dish being presented. Truth be told, I find it a simple and yet appetizing dish. =)
Steamed Cod Fish with Golden Minced Garlic & Soy Sauce
The best fish-dish I ever tasted in the many weddings I attended. Partly because its boneless. =P The cod fish was steamed to perfection and the fish instantly melted in my mouth with a tinge of saltiness. Simply heavenly~ Sigh. Haha.
Pan-Fried Prawns with Quaker Oats
The prawns were quite decent and very crispy. My Dad helped my mother and I to peel the prawns. =P So gentlemanly~

Braised Abalone with Seasonal Vegetables
Another rather decent dish. Nothing much to emphasize about.
Smoked Tea Duck with Mini Pancake
The smoked tea duck tasted quite splendid alone, but the mini pancake did not enhance the taste of the duck. To me, I thought a simple "popiah" skin would have been better.
Braised Ee Fu Noodles with Crabmeat & Mushroom
During this dish, I was quite full already. =X Haha. But the noodles were delicious though and it was not too oily.

Mango Sago with Ice Cream
Such decadence~ Sigh... =) A great dish to end the night!

Overall, the dishes were sent out very quickly. Definitely great service and excellent taste. One of the best wedding dinners I ever been to! =)

Here's to my cousin and her husband, a blessed marriage and 早生贵子. Tee-hee~ Anyway, they are currently on their honeymoon! Sigh. When's my turn? LOL!!

First time attending a friend's wedding, with a Catholic church and Chinese dinner styled. Also first time attending a wedding with Da. Hee. Many firsts for me. Haha. =) Anyway, the church is St. Francis Xavier Church, situated in Serangoon Gardens. Not exactly very pedestrian-friendly. Lol. Was sweating when we reached the church. =X Anyway, it was the first time I entered into a Catholic church. Sorry, I am quite sua-ku. Haha. Anyway, there were a lot of songs (but considerably lesser than that time I went to a Christian church), readings, followed by the exchange of vows and rings, and many more rites that I am unsure of. =X Anyway, here comes the swarm of pictures. =D

There were quite a lot of food and the decorations were quite well done. But apparently I was too hungry to bother about taking photos, so I grabbed some food with everyone, and ate and talked. Haha. After that, Da and I went back to his house to stone for a few hours then we prepared for the evening dinner. =) Of course, we changed clothes and headed out to Paya Lebar MRT and hitched a ride from our friend. Headed to Orchard Hotel!

After that, dinner was served! It was an 8-course dinner. And if you wondering why I can remember the entire names of the food, that's because I snapped a photo of the menu. Hurhur. =P

Deluxe Combination (Roasted Crispy Duck, Deep-fried Beanskin & Seaweed Roll, Fresh Prawn Salad, Marinated Spicy Top Shell, Vietnamese Spring Roll) ; Savoury and a great dish to start off the entire dinner =)

Braised Shark's Fin with Crabmeat ; Not bad, but I usually like Shark's Fin because of the starchy soup. Heh. So the Shark's Fin wasn't a neccessity. Kind of thinking of not having Shark's Fin for my own wedding. Hmmm...

Deep Fried Prawns with Spicy Homemade Sauce ; Nicely marinated, the prawns were crispy and came with a slight tinge of spiciness, just right. =D

Next up, Steamed Garoupa in Teochew Style ; The fish was chewy and soft, cooked just right. Not bad, and it was "cleaned up" quite fast. Hee. =P

Crispy Roasted Chicken ; Saw this dish in a lot of hotels' dinner reception. And I always liked it, maybe it was the keropok. Lol. =D

Braised Sliced Abalone with Whole Conpoy and Spinach ; Not bad, the abalone, spinach and conpoy combination worked out. However, I felt that the spinach was cooked a bit too well, so it was quite "nua". Haha.

Fried Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf ; Personally, I didn't really like it. Haha. But from a neighbouring table with older folks, I saw them enjoying this dish very much. Heh. Guess I prefer sweeter staples. =P

Chilled Mango Puree with Sago and Pomelo ; When the last dish came, Da and I thought that it looked a bit weird. Lol. And when we tasted it, one mouth was enough. It was too sweet and tasted very much like mango syrup straight from a bottle. Especially when the last time I tasted dessert from a wedding dinner was Chilled Rock Melon Cream with Sago Pearl and Ice Cream from Hotel Intercontinental. And golly was that heavenlyy~

After the wedding dinner, we headed out to Marina Mandarin Hotel for some drinks. =) Da and I shared a cup of ice blended chocolate. Haha. I didn't want alcohol or caffeine. Haha. After that, we headed back home. =) Anyway, on a side note, Marina Mandarin Hotel is really quite pretty. =) Heh.

Anyway, just had lunch with my school friends yesterday afternoon at Coastal Settlement to celebrate Siwei's birthday. Will blog about it after I edit my photos. =) Cheers!

Whoots! I know I have retarded for a few days. But wishing everyone a happy 2012!! =D It's the year of the DRAGON!! =D Hee.

Been real busy these few days because of URECA and the URECA Club. In fact, I just came back from the URECA Club BBQ Night event in school just now. Heh. Feel so proud of myself cause I started two fires and maintained them all the way till the night! =D Haha. Small little achievements like this make me so high. Haha. I'm like a little girl in some ways. LOL. =X Anyway, I didn't take any photos cause I was too busy cooking for socialising. But I have to admit that even though there's only a small turn-out, it was still quite a success. And I get to eat alot of BBQ food. Hurhur. Hurray to my extended tummy. LOL. =X

Just a brief update in my life. Heh. Attended a wedding lunch last month. Lovely food. And I liked one of the gowns the bride was wearing. But anyway, here's the pictures of the lovely food~

Next up, it's Braised Sharksfin with Fresh Crabmeat.

Poached Live Prawns served with Chilli and Scallion Soy Sauce. Oh, the prawns are VERY VERY fresh. One of the first times that I really don't mind plucking the prawn shells with my hands. I always disliked eating shelled or boned stuff(outside) because my hands get dirty. Bleah.

Crispy Roasted Chicken with Cracker.

Steamed Live Black Garoupa in Traditional Hong Kong Style. The fish is really very tender. =) I got seconds. Hee. =D

Aromatic Seafood Fried Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf. Don't let the looks of this dish turn you away, it's really very scrumptous! Haha. The rice is very fragrant and the meat is very chewy!!

Chilled Rock Melon Cream with Sago Pearl and Ice Cream! Ohhh~ Damn. This is the BEST!!! The rock melon cream is very milky, and the sago pearl is very chewy and the ice cream is oh-so-yummy!!~ I got at least three bowls of these. Good thing I was sitting with older folks. If I was sitting with children, I bet I won't even get second helpings for this. Haha. =P

Anyway, that's the end of the wedding lunch. After looking at the wedding photos of the new couple, I kept thinking of myself in wedding dresses. Haha.
