So "Joo" actually stands for alcohol in Korean and Joo Bar is famous for being the first bar in Singapore to make their own Korean Rice Wine. So that being the case, the first thing that we had to order was that.

Makgeolli Sampler Set

This is essentially small shot glasses of their differently flavoured Makgeolli. So from left to right - Original, Yuzu, Mango, Strawberry and Lychee. I especially liked the Yuzu and Lychee flavoured ones. If ever I am dropping by again, I will be getting the Makgeolli Slush (a bigger glass).

Baby Eel Paper

With makgeolli, we just need some snacks to eat while drinking. Haha. So we ordered the Baby Eel Paper. I thought it was quite tasty though it is a 'lil too salty for Maggie.

Seafood Soft Tofu Stew

We also ordered the Seafood Soft Tofu Stew because it was recommended by some blogs. When we first saw the stew, we were quite worried that it will be too fire-y, I mean, just look at the colour of the stew. Lol. But it was actually quite mild, and the tofu was really soft and tender. Definitely a must try :)

Hand Chopped Korean Minced Meat Rib Steak

This was *melts in your mouth* super good!! Another MUST TRY!

Price-wise, this may be a 'lil steep. Total damage was about $50 a person for all the dishes up there. But I have to admit, this is a good place for an after-work chilling out, especially with a bit of alcohol and good quality food. :) Gonna be dropping by here again!

We called in for a reservation at 10am, and I reached just in time. But Maggie was late. Tskktskk. Haha. So I bought a Cappuccino to pass the time and grabbed a book to read. :) When she arrived, we began our meal! :D

What I ordered: Eggs Benedict, $20
Poached egg, hollandaise, aged cheddar, onion, bacon

Oh damn, the Eggs Benedict were simply awesome! :) Way better than the one I had at Wild Honey. The poached eggs were perfectly matched with the Hollandaise sauce and the cheddar. Usually I don't take salads, but I slurped up the greens too. A MUST TRY!!

2 eggs of your choice, maple glazed bacon, chicken cheese sausage, hash potato, mushroom, tomato, mesclun, jam and toast

For the eggs, you can choose between Poached Eggs, Scrambled Eggs and others. Don't quite remember the other choices though. Oops. :X

After our brunch, we headed over to Haji Lane for a look-see but we were too early and the shops have yet to open. We went to Bugis Junction instead, cause it was starting to rain. We spent the entire afternoon shopping around Bugis Junction and Bugis +. Haha. After a while we were shagged out. I managed to snag a pair of shoes from Mitju. Heehee. :P

We stoned around Starbucks after that and started playing a new game: Heads Up Charades. I think we were quite loud and we were attracting a few stares. Hahaha. :P Great catch up and I guess its my turn next to think of a cafe for lunch. Anyway, we cam-hored a bit, but I shall only put up one photo. :)

Headed there on a Tuesday night. It was not as fully packed as I thought it would be. So it was a very cosy dinner for all. Was a little shocked when I saw the menu, as the dishes were very decently priced, from $3 to $17. Then upon clarification, we realised that all the dishes there were mini-sized, so to be full, we would have to order about 3 dishes each. Haha. So while we were taking our time choosing our dishes, everyone else arrived and here, we began our feast. :P

Braised Smoked Pork Belly - Thirty-six hour braised streaky bacon, kimchi and leaf bun

Egg Benedict - Brioche, black forest ham, poached quail egg and hollandaise

Fish and Chips - Halibut fillet, steakhouse-style chips and tartare sauce

Green Tea Spaghettini - Handmade green tea pasta, smoked duck breast, wasabi tobiko and lapsang souchong broth

Lobster Cake - Lobster, crabmeat, cheese, mash potato with fennel and apple salad

Lobster Thermidor - Marine lobster, crabmeat, mushrooms, cream, mustard, brandy and parmesan cheese

Pan-fried Scallops - Hokkaido scallops, prune and balsamic puree and crispy parma ham

Wagyu Beef Slider - Hand chopped Wagyu rump, caramelized onions, chilli jam and cheese

Bergamot Jelly - Served with a Dark Chocolate Mousse

Ginseng Panna Cotta - Cooked cream pudding, ginseng, wolf berries and chrysanthemum sorbet

Each of us did order about 2-3 dishes each. And we were trying each others' dishes too. Haha. Personally, I liked the Wagyu Beef Slider and Green Tea Spaghettini the best. The beef was tender and succulent, not too tough and marinated well. Whereas for the spaghettini, the smoked duck breast is heavenly though the spaghetti was just so-so. The desserts were alright too. I preferred the Bergamot Jelly to the Ginseng Panna Cotta though, Ginseng is not really one of my favourite flavours to begin with. Lol. After all the food photos, shall end off with a group shot! Whee! :)

Thanks MoovieSpy for the free pair of tickets! =D Was slightly late for the collection of the movie tickets because it was raining quite heavily and the trains were packed to the brim. Missed 2 trains because of the crowd. Haha. But I managed to collect it before 7pm. Phew! =P

I wouldn't spoil the movie for those who are watching in the future. But expect a lot of laughter and joy, along with some tears. Not to mention that Ben Barnes is in the show too (Eye candy~ LOL =X). Haha. All in all, this movie has indeed brought in a strong cast of actors and actresses.

After the movie, Da and I headed for dinner at Pastamania. Haven't been there with him since 2-3 years ago. We were ravenous, so we settled for a quick dinner~ Pasta is still de-lish! Haha.

Da's pasta, forgot the name though. Oops.

My Al Funghi with Fusilli pasta. As usual, mine is littered with cheese and chilli. LOL =P

Anyhow, Da wasn't feeling very well, so we quickly headed back home so he could rest for the next working day. Sigh. I feel slightly guilty for being so carefree now. =X Oops.

Its the exam season for the University peeps. Though I'm not included this time. Seeing the rest studying makes me miss those times. Haha. Now the next phase of my life is beginning: Job hunting. Lol. Its making me a little excited but nervous all at the same time. Shall take it one day at a time and see what life has to throw at me~ =P Till then, cheers y'all and study hard for those who still have exams! Gambatte!~ XD

Took our seats and explored the menu. I have been here with Lokes before, to pack dinner to her house to eat. =) So it was quite simple for me, I ALWAYS order the same thing. =P As we ordered our food, we started to catch up with our lives and update each other about the changes. Seriously, things have changed quite a bit since our last meet-up. Some good, some bad. Sigh. Really ought to meet up quite often, really. Haha. But schedules clash and things will probably get better when all of us are working in the future. But till then, this is as best as it can go. =X And after about 15 minutes wait, our food arrived!!

Fei's Souffle Omelette. Looks gloriously sinful and humongous. HAHA. And Fei was thinking it should be something small. Lol. Anyway, the souffle omelette tasted quite good, but because it was so big, the taste got a bit ja-lat after a while.

Lokes' Really Big Breakfast. Though not as big as the Souffle Omelette. LOL!! Anyway, this tasted quite decent. The sausages ooze out cheese as you bite into them. =) Yumyum~

My Mushroom Benedict. Yes, it's eggs' benedict again. OOPS. =P Anyway, the eggs' benedict tasted really good, though not as comparable to Wild Honey's. But I like the greens with the salad sauce. Really appetising! =)

So ya, we gossiped more, but we couldn't stay out late because it was Monday and everyone had lessons the next day and assignments to rush out. Christmas meet-up again kkayy? Haha.

In all, Mooshi Bakes is a great place to hang out and chill at. =) Nice ambience and great cafe layout. Head on down if you are along that area! Till then, cheers y'all.

Went to Wild Honey @ Mandarin Gallery last weekend, because one of my friends had a particular craving for it. Haha. And after that meal, I knew why. Lol. It was basically breakfast sets all day long. Truthfully, the food was quite good, but I thought the manager had some issues.

Well, the situation goes... The concept of having zero menus really confounded me and later, when I wanted to take a photo of the chalk-board menu (because we wanted to decide what we wanted first, else we would probably end up hogging the queue), the staff stopped me. The staff (non-manager) who stopped me was polite, but the manager literally gave me dagger eyes and gave a very 不爽 face. Seriously, this type of attitude from the manager? I expected better. So, I was quite pissed off.

I mean seriously, being a manager, you have to set a good example for your staff. Okay, enough with the bad service before ordering. And we really did end up hogging the queue for quite a while because we don't know what to order. Tskk. But after that, the other staff members (non-manager) were quite nice. Though I will probably not frequent that branch at Mandarin Gallery anymore. That aside, here comes the food =)

Opening Times for the Wild Honey at Mandarin Gallery.

The food was good, but then again, the manager at that branch doesn't seem to be very courteous. So, go at your own risk. Haha. I have one friend who mentioned that Wild Honey seems to be slightly "racist", because they tend to treat Caucasians very nice and courteous but yet treat the rest of us Singaporeans, just so-so. But maybe its just that one occasion? Nevertheless, if you are in a service industry, that should not be the attitude of the service staff. One suggestion: Do a spot check every now and then, perhaps the situation may improve. :)

If any of you do head over, and their customer service was impeccable, do drop me a line. Perhaps I may give it another chance, but not in the near future. Lol.

We were also in a prime area to watch F1 because there was a HD-TV right beside our table. Hurhur. =P And when the last person arrived, food was served~ =)

First dish: Braised Crab Meehoon Damnn. This is so heavenly! I love the meehoon with the broth, I kept taking. Hahaha =P And the crab is so tender~~ Maybe I was deprived of seafood and crab, so it was even better!! =D

Coffee Ribs tasted quite interesting. But not very spectacular, if you compare to the first dish. =X Hurhur.

Three Eggs Spinach which was quite a good dish! Tasty yet simple. =) Definitely another must-try~ =D I kept drinking the soup, which was not too salty. Hee. =P

Tofu. Didn't get the full name of the dish. Only remembered the tofu being very soft and smooth. =)

Baked Salted Egg Yolk Crab. Another crab dish! =) The salted egg yolk with the crab was so shiok~ Salty goodnesss~~ Whoots!
